Midori

Midori is a beautiful and talented violinist known for her early brilliance and her inspired virtuosity. Midori first performed in public at the age of six in Japan, playing one of the 24 Caprices of Paganini. She made her concert debut at the age of eleven, performing with the New York Philharmonic conducted by Zubin Mehta. At 21, Midori formed the philanthropic group Midori and Friends, bringing music to children around the world. Midori was selected as a UN Messenger of Peace in 2007.

Midori’s many acclaimed recordings include the great Violin Concertos by Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Bach, Vivaldi, Bartók, and Sibelius, Violin Sonatas by Bach, Bartók, and Poulenc, and Paganini’s 24 Caprices for Solo Violin, Op.1.
